About

Kia ora! Ko Michelle Duff toku ingoa. I'm a journalist from Aotearoa New Zealand.

My work has appeared in print and online media in Aotearoa and internationally, including in The Dominion Post, North & South, The New Zealand Herald, Vice.com, The Melbourne Age and the Irish Independent.

I cover social issues with a focus on health, maternity, gender, and sexual violence. I am a multiple finalist at the Voyager Media Awards, New Zealand’s premier journalism awards, most recently as part of Stuff's Me Too team, where I exposed the predatory behaviour of a trusted family doctor. I won general feature writer of the year in 2016, for a piece on the widening race gap in education.
